Below are some commonly asked questions that may help you understand a little more about what we do: "What is Chiropractic?"Chiropractic is a word that came from the classical Greek words 'Chire' meaning hand and 'Praktikos' which means by manipulation.Chiropractors specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the spine, joints and muscle; then using gentle manipulation, soft tissue techniques, ultra sound or other dry needling and acupuncture treatment to correct the problem and dysfunction. "What happens when I come to the clinic?"Each visit is private and all the staff working within the clinic has a duty to keep everything about you confidential. The care you are offered and the treatment you receive is individual to you and tailored to your specific needs."Will I be x-rayed?"Although our chiropractors have the ability to take and interpret x-rays they will not be taken routinely, only if warranted and in accordance with national guidelines."How many appointments will I need?"The number of appointments and the amount of care required is dependent on your condition, and your response to the treatment provided. In short everyone is individual so there is no definitive answer."Do I pay upfront?"The clinic takes all forms of payment and the fees can be found here. However you only pay for treatment after you have received it. You will also NEVER be offered any form of payment plan or made to pay in advance for a course of treatment.
"Am I too young or too old for treatment?"There is no minimum or maximum age for treatment and all our chiropractors are trained to treat patients in the way that is best suited to you."Do I need a referral from my GP?"Simply put, no, a chiropractor is a primary health care practioner. This means that your chiropractor will examine and diagnose you as any other medical professional would. If a chiropractor cannot help you then they will refer you to the appropriate person for your needs. |
